April 11th 2003 - The Stork Club - Oakland, CA

Clevergirl hits the East Bay for the first time, and it was fantastic! Some of us had never played there before. And some of us have played there enough to know that sometimes it can suck. But this was not one of those times.

Elaine was our East Bay connection. She lives there. And I think she has a LOT of friends. Good friends. The kind of friends that not only come out to support her, but that actually pay attention, and clap, and look happy and stuff. It was so nice.

Plus it was Friday night, so people were already in a good mood, and all we had to do was not suck. So we didn't. We even did an encore! What crazy times.

We were on the bill with some sweet boys called Guernica also from Oak-town. They had a cool sound. Very "English" in a Jesus Jones, Jesus and Mary Chain kind of way. But no black trenchcoats or eyeliner. Just unassuming fellas with a knack for good melody.

The Bartender lady seemed to like us too. And invited us to do it again sometime. That makes us feel good. So we think we will.
